I had my final exam yesterday for speaking. Andy, Kariz, Hendy, and I had the same day for the exam but we were different group, except : Hendy, he was with mine. We were having role play for this exam. Andy’s group got the first turn, and he was a moderator.
As usual, we tried to distract him behind the hazel door. The hazel door was in the back side of where the teacher was sitting, and Andy faced the door. We peeped at the door, then I danced and Hendy did too. Andy was trapped and he laughed while he was leading the role play. The teacher turned back, we escaped as fast as the wind.
Then our group was in, Andy took revenge..He made a funny dance and I laughed but the teacher could not see me as the big desk covered her sight. He was going crazy and entered the room; he danced so badly while other teacher was coming in. That teacher stared at Andy but it was okay. He was rather embarrassed and stuck at his spot. I knew it and tried to be so strong not to laugh!
So cool, it will be the last funny and enjoyable moment happened! You can imagine these past three years, my college days were so fun and I enjoyed very much. When it was listening class and the students supposed to study in Lab A or Lab B. In the end of lesson, it must be something..Sometimes, I lost my right shoe and I suspected the boys hiding it somewhere. Otherwise, I would be the one who came out first, and took anyone’s shoe randomly and hung it on the trash bin.
We have two option minor languages in this diploma, mandarin or Japanese. Most of students picked mandarin, and the rest was Japanese. The teacher, Diah Laoshi, was so lenient. We liked her very much. We always put the mandarin words on wrong pronunciation and we did not feel embarrassed at all.
The non-english-lessons were not my favorite ones. I always had a seat in the last row join the boys;). Discussing small stuff and would be very worried if the teacher approached to give some questions for the too much talking students;).
Wrong pronunciations are the common things happened in our class, but I think it will be common for all students who take second language as a major study. Last Week, I got speaking class and felt like making fun of the teacher. She said what number we should do, I asked ‘number elephant’. All laughed but She was looking for that voice who answered ‘number elephant’. I was acting calm. Other students addressed me, she came to me with a board marker spidol in her hand almost touched my chest (I was afraid the spidol would stick my chest;) and asked me
‘Galuh, what did you say? Number elephant or eleven?’. I said correctly ‘ Number eleven, Ma’am’. ‘Well, repeat after me then say it 5 times! ‘Eleven 5X’
The class was laughing and asked how come I mispronounced it but they knew me well;). The structure class was the best of all.
